Canal Road Group ("CRG") is an alternative asset manager focused on sourcing, underwriting, and managing investments primarily in senior secured credit across the private and public markets. 

Our founders Don Young and Mike Damaso previously ran CBAM Partners (“CBAM”), a $15 billion credit platform they founded in 2016, until it was sold in 2022. With over 50 years of aggregate credit investing experience between them, Don and Mike have a history of launching, scaling, and managing alternative credit platforms. Together, with a core group of 14 others from CBAM filling key leadership, investment, and operational roles, they are bringing their shared experience to bear at Canal Road to implement best practices while building a business unencumbered by legacy systems, processes, or investment portfolios. 

To our investors, we offer access to high-quality investments sourced through an extensive network of sponsors, banks, and corporate management teams. All investments are underwritten internally by our dedicated investment team using rigorous diligence methods. 

To our borrowers, we provide a single interface with Canal Road; one research group, one investment committee and a consistent process allow Canal Road to pivot quickly and seamlessly between offering a private and public solution for their debt financing needs.
